Friends of Hoyt Park Volunteer Work Day

Clearing the woody invasives, mainly buckthorn re-sprouts, between Owen Parkway and the main parking lot.

MEET (time/location): Sat. November 21– Meet at the Hoyt Park Parking Lot and determine area of need and what tools should be used.
WORKDAY ACTIVITY: The area along Regent St./Owen Parkway and the parking lots has had the larger Buckthorn removed, but re-sprouts appear. The workday will be removing the re-growth and collecting for proper disposal.
WEAR: Be sure to dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes or boots, long pants and long sleeves. Wear
sturdy work gloves.
BRING: Bring shovel, loppers, clippers, bow saw and/or a hand trowel. Be prepared to haul any brush to the
roadway or parking lot for city pickup.
